I think we are living in funny times

Good evening,

I don’t know if I’m finding humour in everything because everything is actually funny, or because I’ve been cooped up so long that I’ve lost my mind. Yes. That’s probably it.

Anyway, the Babylon Bee sometimes gives me a good laugh. I’ll tell Sven something I’ve seen written by them and Sven will always say something like, “What the hell is the Babylon Bee.” So this latest little ditty had the following headline, ‘Joe Biden to Replace Tom Brady with Black woman.’ I don’t know, I don’t think that’s as offensive as the quips we were constantly hearing about Donald Trump. The late night shows have always poked fun at presidents. But they weren’t so dang bitter and mean back then. During Trump’s four long years, it seemed like humour was dead. Replaced by cruel, sick jokes sprinkled with obscenities. HaHa very funny.

And so here it is, February 1st. We are two years into Covid with not much to show for it. Mask. No Mask. Mask. No Mask. I don ‘t think I’m alone in not caring too much anymore. And there are a lot of people who do care and think wearing their mask elevates them to sainthood in a society of barbarians. More power to them.

But the way I see it, our country overall has chosen not to sit back and watch its prosperity fall to rack and ruin. Strong people want to live in a strong country with leaders who know how to lead. And by strong people, I mean all citizens who live by the laws of the land. And partake in the privilege of living here. There is no color code, so can’t we just be good people? Together?

Adios
