Do you ever get that message when you’re trying to get to an email. Something’s not right? Who’s in charge over there in email land? How about you tell me what’s wrong. Are you suggesting that you don’t know what’s wrong? Life used to be so simple. Now I’m pissed off again. After two hours of happy thoughts inspired by the Buddha.
But, actually that’s a very good message for the now times. Something’s not right. Joe Biden is on record telling everyone in the world that half the country, those supporting Donald Trump, just believe everything they hear because if something is repeated and repeated often enough, one starts to believe it. He went on to repeat that three times.
If all of this was happening in some other country, it might almost be humorous.
I mean, making the claim for a global world, sounds good, right? But I think most of the problems of recorded history show that getting too tied up in the rest of the world leads to a whole bucket of woe.
As is the style of the day, let’s go back to slavery. There have always been one population who took advantage of another population for their own benefit. For instance, look at how the pyramids were built. Slaves. Did Donald Trump ok that? If Joe Biden says it often enough we can believe that. After all, Trump is a racist. I have no idea where that comes from. Nowhere in reality. Although Biden is a racist. We have heard him in the past spewing racist garbage. Even Kamala Harris says he’s a racist. I don’t get it.
Anyway. Slavery became big in Europe before we were even a country. If you want to see racist atrocities, read “King Leopold’s Ghost.” The king of the tiny country of Belgium was jumping on the global train to colonise Africa, pretty much like France and England were already doing. With brutality towards the Africans he “employed,” King Leopoldo reaped the benefits, ivory and then rubber, for his own good. The country of Belgium wasn’t controlled by the King by the time he got involved with this venture, so solely to the King went the spoils. Joseph Conrad wrote “Heart of Darkness” after seeing what was going on in Africa. But King Leopold was only trying to keep up with his global counterparts. Let’s blame Trump.
Okay, so lots of countries have partaken in slavery throughout civilisation if you want to call it that. Even Africa. So in this year of 2021 can we get past it. No one is proud of it. No one wants to bring it back into vogue. So here’s my analogy:
Remember when you were a kid and you were riding your bike going 90 million miles per hour and you hit some loose gravel and wham! You were down in the gravel with bloody knees and elbows. You hobble home with your bike, crying, when your mom sees you. She washes your wounds, puts on neosporene and bandages you up. The next day, your left knee itches under the bandage. You carefully peel back the bandage and gauze, and you start picking at it. And picking. And picking. You want to pick some more so you peel off all four of your bandages and, even though you’re making everything hurt more, you just can’t stop. Soon, green crud is oozing out. Your wounds are infected now. If only you would have just accepted the fact that they needed time to heal! The scars will be twice the size they would have been if you hadn’t continually irritated the wounds.
That’s what I think goes on with slavery in this country. Blacks have never been able to heal from it because a certain political party keeps irritating their wound. For their political agendas! Mainly for their own good. Oh no! I think I just described slavery ala King Leopold the II.
Adios!
