I just want to say please Uncle Joe, make it snow for Christmas. If we can still have Christmas.
I’m one of those people who is believing that we are about to witness the demise of our country as we know it. Millions upon millions of us think like this. Our Capitalistic Republic is going to be dismantled.
Who even knew how close to this tipping point we were until this election.
Kids hear free college tuition. Yay! Free! But just a minute, do you know how that works. Your decision to go to college is not going to entirely rest with you. Do you think the government is going to pay tuition for students who don’t have the highest GPAs? I think the government will be mostly making that decision. And those tuitions probably won’t be so steep, so those socialist professors can kiss their Ivy League salaries good bye. Hmm…$15 an hour sounds good. Many will be out of jobs. There will be fewer students. But, it still sounds like a great idea, right?
How long has non-socialist speech been outlawed on college campuses. When I was in college, I don’t remember anything like that, or for that matter, having time to be concerned about it. You, know, papers due, books to be read, etc. I’m embarrassed for these universities that have shut down free speech of people who may have a different opinion than they have. Who knew how easily this happened. I have a nephew who told me two years ago that he belonged to the socialist democrat party. Good grief he’s going to a university that costs his parents $50,000 a year. I don’t even understand this kind of thinking, but I’m pretty sure if I had a child in the socialist Democratic Party, he would no long be attending a $50k school. Here’s a broom, go sweep the streets.
And about the snow. I believe in global warming. The globe has been doing its thing for 4.3 billion years. Earth is changing all the time. Can we stop it? We can and have done some things to help, like lowering emissions from vehicles and cleaning up waterways. I like to think we’re smart people and will continue to bring ideas to the table. Shutting down the world, for instance air travel, cars, and God only knows what else, is not a solution. Shutting the globe down for the sake of someone’s green new deal is a plan for misery. Maybe not right away. But soon.
Socialism sounds good. On Paper. But it doesn’t allow for individuality, you know, the things that make people human. And as a socialistic regime gets close to running out of the money people earned during the past hundreds of years, more and more things we take for granted will be gone. Covid-19 gave us a glimpse into socialism. Remember toilet paper lines? Churches closed? Strip clubs open?
Anyway, I’m going to stare out of a window now because guess what? It’s snowing!
