Musings over 50

And Good Morning,

I started out my day earlier than expected because of a cat knocking random items off the dresser. That was at 3:30 am.

Actually that’s a pretty nice time of day, as long as you don’t have to accomplish anything important that day. And that is usually the case. I decided to brew a cup of coffee and have a Windmill cookie while I read my latest book. “AGentleman in Moscow” is becoming one of my favourites. The author, Amor Towles, created a story that’s fun to read. Right now, the main character, a former Count in the Tsar’s Russia, is investigating the once lavish hotel which he is sentenced to live in for the rest of his life. It starts out in 1921, so the story shows some of the difficulties Russia went through after the Revolution and WW1.

So, I did check my favourite blogger this morning. She was showing a very cute outfit, but she just does not look happy. Of course I don’t know her personally, but like all of us, I’m sure she’s going through some stuff right now. I always looked forward to her bright personality, I admit sometimes it’s what got me going in the morning. I thank her for that motivation and hope she has someone who motivates her.

I’m also going to finish a minor sewing task. You know how you buy a really pretty, somewhat fancy top, you put it on for a fancy dinner out with some friends, and you’re all ready to go and you give yourself that last look in the full length mirror and yikes! (a totally cringeworthy yikes). Because of the gaping armholes, previously unnoticed, my bra and back flab were on full display. So I’m going to try sewing up the armholes a bit. I’m not a good sewer, or should I say seamstress so we’ll see.

Let’s have a great day!
